Conclusion (Web Blog 2)

From the entry that I was post before this, there are a lot knowledge and new information I get about Human Resources Information Systems. I are also can see that, my knowledge about HRIS are more improve than before because if I want to share or discuss in my blog, I need to reading and understand every topic that I was discuss to make sure the information that I was shared are correct and must be the clear the information that I want to explain.
I have learned so many good things about the HRIS and the web-based applications which are Web-Based Employee Learning and Development, Web- Based Occupational Safety and Health and Web- Based Compensation and Planning.
All these web-based applications are very important and helpful in managing the growth of the company, technology, knowledge and as well as time consuming. The web based application can help manager to done their work in order to make sure all the system that was set by the organization done what was plan before.
By having all these web-based applications, the human resource practitioners can integrate the technologies to strive for a better managing the company and upgrading the management process as well as balanced the headquarters with the other branches.
All the company that wants their company to be the great company and to make sure the management of their company done smoothly, they should use the proper web based application to every single system of their management process. This application can make their company easy to face with the globalization issues and improve their company in step further than before.

HRIS WF2 : Web-Based Compensation and Planning

For the next entry I want to discuss and explain the topic about Web Based Compensation and Planning. For your information, online compensation represents a web-enabled approach to an array of compensation tools that enable an organization to gather, store, manipulate, analyze, utilize, and distribute compensation data and information. The web based compensation have their own benefit to the organization that t used it. Online benefits administration subsystem is used to manage the organization’s benefit plans through online integration with other human resource information and payroll processing.
Web-Based Compensation and planning have a lot of advantages that can we get we used it on our organization. The one of the advantages of the Web-Based Compensation is its ability to create reports and presentations. When the data of the compensation have at the system, it will easy to create reports about the compensation process and can more easily to present to the entire manager that responsible to manage the compensation that want to give to their employee. The other advantages are allowing a business to streamline the administration of employee compensation and benefits. It will help the administration of the company to process or to identify compensation and benefits that will give to all employees. Besides that, this is also can enable the end users to tap a broad range of HR information to adjust to changing demands. There must changed occur when to identify that suitable reward to every employees. So, the data from the web based can help HR manager to get the HR information.
Furthermore, it is also can improve effectiveness either by in terms of the accuracy of information or by using the technology to simplify the process. The information that we get is more correct and it easy to do the process of compensation. The other advantages are, it is can fundamentally changed the way employees relate to their HR departments. Manager can also have advantages when used web based of compensation. It is can let the managers have ready access to information that is useful both to them and to their employees, and do not have to go through a third party.
However, web based compensation do not have any disadvantage since this is the ultimate technology that HR does their daily tasks such as recording data, processing all HR activities. Some of the employees and managers who view this new technology as the “work of HR” and therefore are resistant to using it or perhaps the technology are not as user-friendly as it should be.

HRIS WF2 : Web-Based Occupational Safety and Health

The next entry I want to discuss is about Web Based Occupational Safety and Health. Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is interdisciplinary area concerned with protecting the safety, health and welfare of people engaged in work or employment. The goals of OSH are to foster a safe and healthy work environment, to create a healthy and safe working culture among all employees and employers and to decrease the injuries and accidents in the workplace. The function of OSH are to protect co-workers, family members, employers, customers, and many others who might be affected by the workplace environment and set out the responsibilities of employers and workers to ensure that safety is maintained in work. There are many of these organizations are governmental bodies, serving to promote occupational safety and health at work such as, the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission in Australia, the Occupational Safety and Health, Administration in the United States, the Health and Safety Commission in the United Kingdom, and the Occupational Safety and Health Council in Hong Kong. The function of Web Based Occupational Safety and Health are to record Safety and Health training. With this process we can identify whether the employee have done their OSH training or not. Because the OSH training is one of the requirement and important to make sure every employees do the work in safety condition and follow the rule that was set by the management of the organization. The other function of Web Based OSH is to accident reporting and record keeping. Accident in workplace is one of the important thing that manager should alert and make sure it would not happen to their employee but some cases accident cannot be avoid. So, that when the accidents happen to the employee so, manager should record the accident in order to make sure the same situation not will happen again. Besides that, web based OSH can help worker’s compensation claims. The record of the employee activity can make the process of compensation claims if something bad happen to the employee.
There are digital tools for managing safety trough construction. Digital technologies, such as the online databases, VR, GIS, 4D CAD, BIM, sensing/warning technologies etc., are widely applied in these tools for site hazard prevention and safe project delivery. Besides that, online databases are commonly used in assessing competence of different stakeholders. VR and database technologies to assist users in identifying potential the construction risks contained in the design at the construction stage. Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and BIM have also become used in conjunction with 4D CAD to better understand construction safety issues by considering environment impact and design information.

HRIS WF2 : Web-Based Employee Learning and Development

For this time I want to explain and discuss a topic about Web-based Technology for Employee Learning and Development. Every organization nowadays very care about their employee learning and their employee career development. The needed of improvement in skills, knowledge and ability of every employee is one of the important thing that the organization want to achieve to improve their employee so, that it can help in production of the company. Web-based Technology is increasingly perceived as a source of competitive advantage for the companies especially for Employee Learning and Development. Learner’s access information as needed and new skills can be applied immediately, thus reducing delays and lost productivity.
There are different between employee development and employee learning and development, it is because employee development in term of human resource management, the web-based technologies did not integrated into the concept yet, but after we-based technology has integrated, it become employee learning and development in order to ensure employees have self-directed learning behavior in developing their own career, training, and performance. At the same time, they are able to keep on competitiveness and perform well in their work. From the Employee Learning and Development system organization able to generate various of report for example report of performance before training in order to trace employee who has poor employee performance and ensure that they have increase their performance after come back from training. Besides, training course available can also easily updated by organization and gets by employees without do manually by sending monthly list of training course offered to the entire department in an organization.
Web-based technologies have given training and development organizations an opportunity to create powerful learning experiences that employees can utilize to better accomplish their objectives. Aside from being accessible 24 hours per day and 7 days per week, a characteristic most people have come to expect, the Internet can also provide equal access to a wide range of people. Employees who are located in remote sites or who have a more reserved personal style are on an equal footing with their colleagues at headquarters and with those who might dominate a face-to-face training program. The Internet can cater to various individual or cultural learning styles: careful study of background information, viewing of diagrams or images, and interactive "learning by doing." Web tools can open many new doors to employees who may previously have been excluded from learning opportunities in the organization.
